Rita is Managing Partner at Genesis Group & Associates, a consulting firm with expertise in the health care field, business administration and management, program development and implementation, strategic marketing, public relations, and grass-roots outreach in ethnic communities.

Ms. Cruz Gallegos collaborates with Aurrera Health Group as a Provider Outreach Strategist. In this capacity, she represents the California Department of Health Care Services on outreach and education efforts for the Coordinated Care Initiative.

She worked for Health Net of California as the Statewide Sr. Program Director for Latino Programs. Her main responsibility was to oversee and market Health Net’s cross-border product “Salud con Health Net.” Rita’s duties encompassed promotion of all lines of business, including Salud Con Health Net, throughout California.

Rita was born in Mexico and immigrated to the Unites States at the age of 11. She graduated from East Los Angeles College and attended the University of Southern California and California State University in Fullerton. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University and graduated from Glendale University College of Law.

Rita strongly believes in the importance of volunteerism, helping the less fortunate and expanding access to healthcare in underserved communities. Rita is past Chair of the Board of Directors for Latino Health Access in Orange County and serves on several other Boards, including Community Health Initiative of Orange County and OC Caregivers Collaborative. She also serves on the Pastoral Council for Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, where she Chairs the Family Festival, the main fundraising event for the parish and its school.

She lives with her husband and their dog, Evee in the city of San Dimas.
